"YUNG GURLZ" DISCLAIMER

The lyrics of the first lyricist (me, Grammar) in the following song depict the attempts of a slightly older man to initiate relations with a younger woman who is not of consensual age, tho only just. Navigating this situation is a real problem that young men, such as I once was, desirous of being law-abiding yet sexually active, face at a certain age, and I try and have my narrative voice handle the conundrum with cheek and wit.

The lyrics of the second lyricist (Meesh) depict many more much worse things than that.

Because I often volunteer working with juvenile women - and, as a feminist, generally abhor depictions of violence against women in any medium - I feel it prudent to go on public record as *vehemently* opposing any and all kind of abuse of women / child abuse, including, of course, imprisonment and sexual assault.

"Why, then, keep the song up?" one might ask. My answer is: I wrote this a long time ago, in my late 10's / early 20's, before I started volunteering with juveniles, at a time in my life when dating girls who were barely illegal was appropriate to my age; I'm very proud of my beat and my scratching at the end; I'm proud of my lyrics and rapping; further, people working on a song together shouldn't be taken to mean that every person involved shares every other person involved's opinions, although I do bear full responsibility as publisher; even further, tho I disagree wholly with the actions of the narrator that Meesh is describing (as I'm sure, incidentally, does he) I wanted to honor my agreement to let him add whatever he wanted as a verse (and was stoked to have anyone contribute on this album frustratingly full of guest-spot holes!), moreover I feel it is clear from the way Meesh is rapping that he is attempting to negatively caricaturize his narrator - in other words, he is ironically mocking woman-abusers - and is even kind of funny while doing it; I also think he captures something honest, in an over-the-top way, about the theological implications of the terrifying voracity of the libido that conscientious men must struggle with their whole young lives; penultimately, I thought what he did on a technical level, as far as freestyling, is worth preserving; lastly, and most importantly, I don't feel able to censor myself or Meesh. As the creator of this work, I am not able to say if it is Art, but I do think - its deeply disgusting / offensive aspects notwithstanding - it deserves to be in the world so that others can make that judgment. I hope Fate never brings this song to the ears of anybody who disagrees with me that this tradeoff has been worth it; I would be devestated to learn that this song has in any way injured anyone's psyche / hurt anyone's feelings.
